| Master tattooist
Snapper began his career in 1980 at Tiger's Eye Tattoos in Fayetteville,
North Carolina while surviving in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort
Bragg. His first mentor was Ben Keith, better known in the Tattoo world as "Mr. Tramp." After Ben's untimely death in a motorcycle accident, Snapper worked for Lou Scibarris at Lou's Tattoos in Fayetteville, until Snapper retired from the Army and moved back to south Texas. Snapper established Phantasy Tattoos on Eisenhauer Road in San Antonio in February of 1986, dividing his time between San Antonio and frequent road trips to motorcycle rallies and tattoo shows across the United States. In 1990, Snapper moved to Miami, Florida to establish a second shop (Moon over Miami Tattoos) with longtime friend and mentor Lou Scibarris. While in Miami, Snapper had the opportunity to work and study a variety of styles of art, with some of the best artists in those styles- American Traditional with the magnificent Dave Gibson, Oriental with Troy Lane and Clem Lerell to mention a few. In 1995, Snapper returned full time to San Antonio, and moved Phantasy Tattoos to its' present location on Perrin Beitel Road. This master tattooist does all styles of tattoo art, with special emphasis on Oriental and American Traditional styles. He also loves to repair or cover up old or poorly done tattoos. If you have a question regarding tattooing, or want or need professional advice, please email Snapper at snapper@phantasytattoo.net. |
